Canadian Team PokerStars Pro Steve Paul-Ambrose put in a steady performance at the 2008 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker, racking up five money finishes across of range of different disciplines. Paul-Ambrose scored in the Limit Hold’em, Razz, Pot Limit Hold’em, No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha events. He was unable to make any final tables however, with a 39th place out of 2,258 in Event #3, the $215 Limit Hold’em his best effort.
Team PokerStars Pro Steve Paul-Ambrose has won the C$ 1,380 No Limit Hold'em event at the Canadian Poker Open Championship held in Calgary. Paul-Ambrose, who hails from Ontario, beat a field 87 runners to take home $33,296 for first place. The Canadian Poker Open Championship, hosted at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino is the biggest poker tournament staged in Canada, featuring five events and total prize pool of $1.3 million, and attracted many star players.
Steve Paul-Ambrose has followed up his breakthrough 2006 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure win by finishing fourth in Event #1
at the 2007 World Series of Poker* held at the Rio in Las Vegas. The Canadian member of Team PokerStars Pro cashed for $146,259
in the £5,000 World Championship Mixed Hold'em Limit/No-Limit, to continue an excellent run of results. The tournament attracted
451 players and kicked off the 38th WSOP* in fine style.
